News from the Arizona "Front"... Not Good at All

I recently emailed with a grad school classmate who still lives in Arizona (where I went to school and my wife's home state) asking him about the "state of the state". What he says does not shock me but the magnitude of the issue is pretty surprising, even frightening.

Gary is a highly educated, articulate (as you will see in his message) guy, married, two beautiful daughters, and, in no way, a racist... While our president plays politics with the immigration…

Depriving Americans of "Earned Success" will be devastating...

Depriving us of “Earned Success”?

We’ve all heard the old axiom that “money can’t buy happiness” and there is ample evidence to support the truth of that nugget of wisdom… how many lottery winners end life happily retired, doing what they want, adding value to society, etc. versus those who “put the bottle to their head and pull the trigger” as an…

Will American expats be forced to buy US health insurance?

Does anyone know if US expats, covered by national health in the country of their residence, will be forced to buy US health coverage?

One Candidate's "All In" Commitment to Take Back America

Below is an extract from a George Will article on a candidate for Senate from Wisconsin who is running against uber-liberal, Russ Feingold. What struck me most was his response to how much of his own wealth would he invest to win... "All of it."I'm not suggesting that you invest "all of your wealth" in any cause but I would suggest that this might be the right election year in which to truly engage with and support the candidate(s) ofyour choice for Governor, Senator, and Representatives. Ah, yes... those violent Tea Party protesters. At a Tea Party protest in Quincy Illinois recently, Obama had to order the SWAT teams out to control these two violent grandmothers. Whew, thank God he was focused on those crazy Tea Partyers instead of Islamic terrorists (excuse me, "man-made disasters") . REPEAL Obamacare

Repealing Obamacare must be a call to action for Conservatives and the Republican Party leading into the Nov mid-term elections, and beyond. Yuval Levin's recent article in The Weekly Standard is essential reading for all Americans who want to start taking back our country.http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/repealSee More

Roundtable Debate in Caen - Healthcare and Midterm Elections

I had the privilege of representing Republicans Abroad France in a roundtable discussion on US politics and the Nov midterm elections. Held at Caen in Normandy on March 21, it consisted of a discussion between myself and Meredith Gowan Le Goff, Chair of Democrats Abroad France. It was moderated by Jeremy Goldstein of the “political pub” of Paris and included an introduction by Eric Beaty, Economic & Commercial Attaché of the U.S. Consulate in Rennes. It was co-sponsored by Republicans…See More

How Disingenuous Can You Get?

OK, so I am not a constitutional scholar BUT I do know that the “Founding Fathers” had nothing to do with setting the 60 vote majority to end a filibuster… that is purely and simply a Senate Rules Committee decision… one that I support no matter who has the majority. But I find Obama’s selective use of facts – REMEMBER, he now touts the “reconciliation” process as an appropriate means to avoid the 60 vote rule on the healthcare plan, despite the fact that nearly 60% of Americans oppose his plan…See More
